TWO WORDS, transferee trauma, can sum up what it feels like to relocate. Beth understands having made two cross country moves within two years with young children in tow. This was one of the reasons she decided to become a Realtor. “I know firsthand what it feels like to leave your family and friends to start a new life in a totally new area. It can be both exciting and scary,“ Beth said. That’s why she is patient and understanding with her clients whether they are relocating across town or across the country. She is a great listener and willing to do whatever it takes to help her clients find the right home and get comfortable in the area. Beth wants her clients to feel that they can pick up the phone and ask for help anytime before and after they purchase their home. “One of my clients nicknamed me “Google Beth” because they called on me so often for advice after closing. They still call me today when they need a service reference 7 years later.
Chet and I have moved A LOT! Since moving to Greenville in 1980, we have lived in Simpsonville , 29681, Greenville, Eastside and Woodruff Road areas 29615, Augusta Road and Downtown 29605, 29609 and 29601. We’ve lived inside neighborhoods and out, in a condo in the historic district within walking distance of Main Street and currently in a renovated Craftsman style cabin on 11 acres north of Traveler’s Rest. In addition, we own investment properties in Greer, in the North Main area, Pelham Road area and close to Bob Jones University. We have built a new home and remodeled older ones from simple updates to ‘down to the studs’. If you want to know firsthand what different areas of the Upstate have to offer, what it takes to build or remodel or what is it like to live in a condo versus a house, I can speak honestly and give thought provoking guidance because I’ve lived it. “ Beth has also worked with lots of people in the transition stage of downsizing from their family home to a home more suitable for empty nesters.
Though originally from Charlotte, NC, Beth loves Greenville and has always been involved in the community . Chet and Beth were one of ten founding members of the Metropolitan Soccer Association responsible for funding and building the MeSA Soccer Complex recognized nationwide as one of the finest youth soccer facilities in the Southeast. They have served on numerous boards and committees and support a number of local organizations including The United Way of Greenville, The Frazee Dream Center, Special Olympics, and others. Chet and Beth are members of Grace Community Church. Beth is addicted to the Food Network and loves trying new recipes, walking on the Swamp Rabbit Trail and playing with her grandchildren.
Beth works exclusively as a Buyer Agent and has successfully met and maintained the standards as an Accredited Buyer Agent designee for over 16 years. She has also earned distinction as a Luxury Collection Specialist only awarded those agents with a proven track record of successfully handling the sale of Fine Homes in excess of $450,000 as established by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. She is Relocation Certified and has worked with transferees from many national and international companies. In addition, Beth is a Certified Residential Specialist.

Before entering Real Estate in 1998, Chet owned & operated an international consulting firm specializing in Sales Training, Marketing, Communication Skills & Negotiation Strategies …. Additionally, He held ownership in and operated Buick, Pontiac, GMC & Toyota Franchises located in North Carolina, South Carolina & Arizona. The skills acquired in these professions uniquely qualify him for his current profession of serving his clients’ needs in the Upstate SC Real Estate Market.
Chet’s primarily focus is on Listing & Selling Homes while his wife Beth, specializes in working with buyer clients … This approach to handling their clients’ needs resulted in them earning the first ever “Presidents Award” three years ago, for selling more homes over the previous 10 years than any other agents in the upstate (2320 Homes – 533 Million dollars in sales) … As C. Dan Joyner Put it:
“That’s over half a billion dollars in real estate, which is a lot of satisfied buyers and sellers … no one has ever sold this many homes, and I doubt it will ever be duplicated!”
Chet’s formal education took place at Arizona State University, Georgia Tech & The General Motors Institute. He served as a commissioned officer in the Arizona National Guard for seven years and today when he has spare time, enjoys fishing, kayaking and spending time with his friends and grandchildren on their farm in Marietta, SC.
From a business standpoint, Chet’s primary commitments are: 1. (Productivity) To always invest our time relative to the greatest amount of production for our clients. 2. (Critical Thinking) If an idea, concept, marketing method, system or procedure is still being handled or done in the same way it always has been … RETHINK IT (Be willing to break out of the traditional Real Estate Model) and implement systems & marketing strategies that WORK. 3. (Client Focus) Never forget that we have been entrusted to help with the purchase or sale of one of our clients’ largest financial & lifestyle assets. Because of this, the client’s primary concern is RESULTS! 4. (Innovation) To spend the time necessary to develop a marketing and pricing strategy for each home we list that will result in a sale at the highest possible price in the shortest amount of time relative to the client’s goals and objectives. And finally, 5. (To invest) in administrative staff and acquire the best possible people to assist us with the “every day” administrative items that eat up an agent’s time and just keep them busy, rather than productive.
Following through on these commitments has enabled the Chet & Beth Smith Group to produce the desired results for their clients, and since their clients like “RESULTS”, literally 60% of their business growth has come from repeat business or referrals from satisfied clients. So, by their third year in the industry, they found themselves ranked the # 1 Residential Re-sale Agents in the entire Upstate of SC. Over the past 24 months of 2013 & 2014, they have averaged in excess of one closing per day … Keeping “Results” and their motto of “Everything We Touch Turns to SOLD” alive and well.
